Associate Director, Center for Academic Advising and Student Support

Marissa Fowler serves as the Associate Director of Academic Advising and Student Support. She has previously served as NMSU’s Cross-Campus Advisor and Program Coordinator for the Student Success Navigator program. She also runs the Aggie Capstone Graduation Challenge program, a college-senior dropout recovery program. Marissa is a three time Aggie alum.

She received her bachelor’s degree in Creative Media and Digital Filmmaking and her Master’s in Educational Administration. In 2018 she earned her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration with a special emphasis on social justice issues. Marissa began working at NMSU in 2011 as the Cross-Campus Advisor in Student Affairs & Enrollment Management. She has also served as an NMSU Admissions and Transfer Advisor. A Native New Mexican, Marissa takes great pride in working for the state’s Land-grant Institution.
